Using up my Earth Elements....

Another pic I had to take outside, the colors show off pretty well here. Well, when I made this card I didn't know there was going to be a farewell to most of the Earth Elements colors (which is most of the colors I have), but it looks like I am using up what is soon to be retired. There is no sentiment on this card yet.
Stamps: Garden Silhouettes
Ink: Summer Sun Pumpkin Pie
Paper: Summer Sun Pumpkin Pie Whisper White
Other: Scallop Border Punch, sponging/masking

a Pinwheel Saturday

For some reason I could not get a picture that was bright enough and NOT blurry! So I ended up taking my newly constructed cards outside for their photo shoot. You will have to ignore the beautiful background of my lawn furniture. I am sure it will not come as a surprise to learn I saw a smiliar card on SCS and I had to make one. I am going to do a search and give credit to the original artist. I just bought some dsp that ACTUALLY coordinates with cardstock I already have...how about that for planning ahead. When I started cutting the squares out I thought geez this is going to make a small pinwheel, but nope, it was the perfect size pinwheel for the front of a standard sized card. Hope you like it. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
Stamps: None
Ink: None
Paper: SU dsp (cambridge, I think) Old Olive, Night of Navy and Whisper White
Other: Button, linen thread

Lazy Dayz

Believe it or not I have made several cards in the last few days, just have not photographed them yet, hence the reason no new cards on my blog. Heard the SU news yesterday, new colors, retired colors...geez...feel like as soon as I start to get with the program, they change the program on me. I am still a newbie to SU so I didn't see it coming. Hey, did you get any good dealz on SU's clearance rack? I got some dsp and buttons...can't wait to get my goodies. Does the retirement of so many colors mean some of those items (ink/paper) might be on clearance sometime too?? Hopefully.... We'll my plans for Sat include stamping and posting to my blog, so check back soon - Blessings

Essence of Love

Can you believe this weather? Here in Maryland it was over 90 degrees today...talk about crazy. I was ready for spring not an Indian Summer...geee wiiizzzz. Anyway, I am a firm believer that practice makes perfect, so I wanted to make sure I kept up with my brayer skills. When I got this set Essence of Love (thanks Amy) I thought it would be great on a brayed background (is brayed a word???) Anywho, here is the recipe

Stamps: Essence of Love
Ink: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Choc Chip Old Olive
Paper: Old Olive Pumpkin Pie Whisper White
Other: Black embossing powder tiicket corner punch

Hope you like it. I think I am going to mass produce some of these for Sympathy cards to have on hand.

Rich Razzleberry Criss Cross

This was my first attempt at a criss cross card and I think it turned out pretty well. I CASED the idea from the Saucy Stamper aka Melissa Riker from SCS. I also looked at a tutorial for puffy flowers on SCS. I was surprised at how long it took me to make this, but it was fun and I am happy it turned out so well on my first try. Hope you enjoy it
Stamps: Happy Everything Essence of Love

Paper: Very Vanilla Rich Razzleberry DSP
