Bookmark cards

I saw a few cards on SCS (cant remember the stamper) who used the tag punch to make cards similar to this. I do not have the tag punch, so I cut my shapes by hand and they more resemble a bookmark than a tag. I think I may make a few more of these and give as a set. Right now there is no salutation or verse, might even leave them that way.

Using up my Earth Elements....

Another pic I had to take outside, the colors show off pretty well here. Well, when I made this card I didn't know there was going to be a farewell to most of the Earth Elements colors (which is most of the colors I have), but it looks like I am using up what is soon to be retired. There is no sentiment on this card yet.

a Pinwheel Saturday

For some reason I could not get a picture that was bright enough and NOT blurry! So I ended up taking my newly constructed cards outside for their photo shoot. You will have to ignore the beautiful background of my lawn furniture. I am sure it will not come as a surprise to learn I saw a smiliar card on SCS and I had to make one. I am going to do a search and give credit to the original artist. I just bought some dsp that ACTUALLY coordinates with cardstock I already have...how about that for planning ahead. When I started cutting the squares out I thought geez this is going to make a small pinwheel, but nope, it was the perfect size pinwheel for the front of a standard sized card. Hope you like it. Enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
Stamps: None

Lazy Dayz

Believe it or not I have made several cards in the last few days, just have not photographed them yet, hence the reason no new cards on my blog. Heard the SU news yesterday, new colors, retired colors...geez...feel like as soon as I start to get with the program, they change the program on me. I am still a newbie to SU so I didn't see it coming. Hey, did you get any good dealz on SU's clearance rack? I got some dsp and buttons...can't wait to get my goodies. Does the retirement of so many colors mean some of those items (ink/paper) might be on clearance sometime too?? Hopefully.... We'll my plans for Sat include stamping and posting to my blog, so check back soon - Blessings

Essence of Love

Can you believe this weather? Here in Maryland it was over 90 degrees today...talk about crazy. I was ready for spring not an Indian Summer...geee wiiizzzz. Anyway, I am a firm believer that practice makes perfect, so I wanted to make sure I kept up with my brayer skills. When I got this set Essence of Love (thanks Amy) I thought it would be great on a brayed background (is brayed a word???) Anywho, here is the recipe

Stamps: Essence of Love
Ink: Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Choc Chip Old Olive
Paper: Old Olive Pumpkin Pie Whisper White
Other: Black embossing powder tiicket corner punch

Hope you like it. I think I am going to mass produce some of these for Sympathy cards to have on hand.

Rich Razzleberry Criss Cross

This was my first attempt at a criss cross card and I think it turned out pretty well. I CASED the idea from the Saucy Stamper aka Melissa Riker from SCS. I also looked at a tutorial for puffy flowers on SCS. I was surprised at how long it took me to make this, but it was fun and I am happy it turned out so well on my first try. Hope you enjoy it

I am so thankful for My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gave His Life for me. Please remember this is what we should be embracing right now, not chocolate bunnies and hiding plastic eggs.

Happy Hump Day everyone

I was thinking about a dear friend today who used to always say "another day of work another half dollar" as we would leave work. For some reason this card made me think of her.

I really need to give her a call!!

This is not a color combination I would normally put together but it looks really good IRL.

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes

Paper: Pumpkin Pie Not quite Navy Very Vanilla

Ink: Pumpkin Pie Not quite Navy Chocolate Chip

Other: Non SU ribbon and the scallop border punch from the Sal-e-bration catalog (which ends today)

Enjoy and have a blessed day :)

Another card with Garden Silhouettes

As I said earlier, I CASED this card from djahner from SCS. Love this color combination, not something I would normally pair together unless it was Halloween...

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes Sincere Salutations
Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Pumkin Pie, Old Olive, Whisper White
Other: Big shot, top note, PP grossgrain ribbon, scallop circle punch

My new stamp set...well new to me!!

I recently saw a post on SCS where someone was selling Garden Silhouettes so I looked it up in the Gallery and fell in love with the set. I then saw where djahner cut a top note in half and decorated one half with Pocket Silhouettes. Well, I CASED her when I made this card except I used my Garden Silhouettes set. I am going to give this card with a few others to my mil for her bday next week. Hope she likes them.....hope I can part with this card....might have to make a few more before I part with 'em. Have a good day and thanks for looking.

Stamps: Garden Silhouettes
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White, Perfect Plum
Ink: Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Chocolate Chip
Other: Ribbon (non SU) Big Shot (I don't think these plates were SU either, I think Sizzix) Top Note

Welcome to my blog

Do I know anything about creating a blog??? No. Do I know anything about uploading pictures to this blog?? No. I am going to learn how to do this one step at a time. Hopefully I will post some card pics soon!
